Lent Season
Lent is a 40-day season (excluding Sundays) of spiritual preparation for Easter, beginning on Ash Wednesday, February 18, 2026 and ending on Holy Saturday, April 4, 2026. It is a time for reflection, repentance, fasting, and self-denial, representing Jesus' time in the wilderness
For United Methodists, Lent is a time of:
- Giving up/Taking on: Many Wesleyan inspired traditions such as fasting from certain foods or habits, or take on increased prayer, Bible Study or acts of service.
- Focus on Scripture: Reading and meditating on God's Word.
- Acts of Service: Giving of ones-self for others to grow as disciples.
- Symbolism: Ashes on Ash Wednesday are use as a sign of repentance and mortality.
Lenten study will be Wednesdays at 12:00pm starting on February 25, 2026 in the Library and continuing for 7 weeks. - "Why Did Jesus Have to Die" by Adam Hamilton - sign up with Pastor Vicky!
