History of the United Women in Faith

1912

The beginning of the Ladies Aide. They helped with the upkeep of the church and parsonage; they served funeral dinners, parties and other special occasions.

1940

September 16th the Women's Society of Christian Services was charted and replaced the Ladies Aide.

1951

The Women's Society of Christian Services began organizing and implementing the current Calendars you see in almost every business and household around Pine Bluffs, including surrounding towns. This calendar includes birthdays, anniversaries, memorial birthdays, memorial anniversaries, school events, church events. 2026 marks the 75th year of production of this calendar.

1969

July, the Women's Society of Christian Services was divided into two groups. The Afternoon Circle was in charge of worship and programs. The Evening Circle was in charge of fundraising, parsonage and the kitchen and fellowship hall.

1973

September 13th, The Afternoon Circle and Evening Circle combined to form the United Methodist Women with Allie McDowall as presiding president.

The United Methodist Women changed its name to the United Women in Faith which is current today. The current members are listed in the Committee section.

Some of the Women's projects over the years have included, food pantry, food baskets and toys for Christmas, community calendars since 1951, helping hand groups, donate to the Warren Village, donated diapers and other requested items to an orphanage in Romania, enter a float yearly in the Trail Days parade, sale and serving pie during Trail Days.  The Pie Sale donations go to a needy individual of the town selected by the UWIF.
