History of the Pine Bluffs United Methodist Parsonage
1914
The original parsonage was built on the south side of the cement block church.
1920
The two lots across the alley to the west of the church were purchased by the Ladies Aide. Ladies Aide was the original name of what currently is the United Women in Faith.
1924
The parsonage was moved to the new lots and was remodeled several times through the years.
1989
The new Methodist parsonage was built and dedicated during Reverend Amborn III ministry. The stain glass window "Dove of Peace" in the parsonage door was created and donated by the Minister of Faith United Methodist. Glennis Harrison and Milton Gibson served as co-chairpersons for the building project of the new parsonage. The old parsonage was sold and moved to 2nd and Beech Street for a mere $25.00. During the building process the minister and his family resided in the old Mildred McFann house at 5th and Blair Street. This house was sold at a later date and the proceeds were gifted to the church. Mildred McFann (1897-1987) a longtime active church member, Sunday School Teacher and our county librarian for numerous years bequeathed $373,000 to the Pine Bluffs United Methodist Church. Out of these original monies the Pine Bluffs Methodist Parsonage was built at the corner of 6th and Market Street. The remaining $221,000 was used to establish a separate Pine Bluffs Methodist Foundation. To date, this principal remains intact.
